Featuring 5 rows of 8 axles, 4 of which are steering, this Gantry Trailer was designed and built by Tidd Ross Todd Limited of Hamilton, for Albras Aluminium Smelter, Belen, Brazil. The Jost Tridec steering and suspension for the BPW axles is linked to the Fifth Wheel King Pin via a closed hydraulic circuit. The trailer axles are automatically steered from the king pin skid plate, or can be manually steered via remote control.

Built for Albras of Brazil the trailer is shown undergoing tests before delivery to Christchurch where a 135 Tonne SWL Southern Cross Engineering Gantry was fitted to the two lifting pillars. The Gantry Trailer is designed to reduce downtime by enabling quick change over of pots on the smelt line. TRT specified the BPW and Tridec system to meet exacting site conditions that required both manoeuvrability and high load capacity, along with low ground pressure.
